  1. 2.4 What do I really believe?

  2. Faith/Belief • Confident trust in the truth about a person, idea or thing • Doesn’t require proof or evidence • Often used in a religious context to describe a trust in a God and spiritual things • From the Latin fides, which means “trust”

  3. Science • From the Latin Scio, which means “I know” • Knowledge of the natural world gained by gathering empirical evidence • Reproducible, observable, predicable, controlled experiments • Uses our 5 senses

  4. Laws - Statements and rules express relationships in Science. They can be tested and observed. e.g. Law of Gravity Theory - Analytical structure or broad statement that explains empirical observations. The smaller parts can be proven and observed but the large concept cannot be observed e.g. Theory of Evolution, Theory of Gravity in deep space.
