US Certificates • First LSA approved in the US • LAMA Audit Certification • FAA Audit Completed • LSA of the Year 2008 • FAA approved for Part 141 Flight Schools
Opportunities for Flight Schools using Light Sport Aircraft • Considerably lower purchase cost to buy new LSA (one half of new Cessna 172) • Lower airplane insurance (percentage of insured value) • Operating expenses considerably lower than standard-category aircraft (oil, fuel, spark plugs, etc.) • Lower maintenance costs • All these advantages of LSA lead to lower hourly rates • LSA can help a new school overcome barriers to entry the flight training market (knowledge, brand recoginiton, economies of scale) • Use of LSA’s will make flight schools more competitive in the primary training market
Fleet of 10 Aircraft Cost Comparison Over 5 Years • Cessna 172: $7.74 million • Diamond DA20: $5.78 million • Evektor SportStar $3.28 million
