  3. Where to visit. • Prague is known for architecture and has many beautiful buildings. One of these buildings is Prague castle, or Hradcany castle, which is part of the vast royal complex, the Hradcany. Another of these buildings is the Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Square. • One more is St. Vitus Cathedral. Did you know that nearly 600 years went into making this famous Prague landmark? The last landmark is the Archbishops Palace, which has been reconstructed many times. Page 1

  5. What people eat. • A traditional Prague dish consists mainly of pork or beef with a sauce or side dish, the most common side dish being dumplings. Dumplings are made out of wheat or potato flour, then boiled in water as a roll, sliced and served hot. Other side dishes include rice, potatoes. A slightly weird combination is a mixture of meat, a sauce and whipped cream. This is called Sviçkovå or Rajskå. Page 3

  7. Music. • Music in Czech Republic is very varied, from high-culture opera to the traditional music of Bohemia and Moravia. Jazz and bluegrass music have become popular. Composers are often influenced by traditional music; pop music often consists of English language hits sung in Czech. English-speaking visitors listening to Czech radio are surprised to hear the prevalance of familiar tunes, but with lyrics sung in Czech. Page 5

  8. 5 fun facts about Czech. • It’s the largest castle area in the world. • The first sugar cubes were made in the Czech town of Dacice in 1841. • The Czech Republic is almost entirely surrounded by mountains [apart from the south, towards Austria and Slovakia]. • Czech people are the worlds heaviest consumers of beer. • Czech Republic used to be part of Czechoslovakia, until 1993, when it became an independent country called Czech Republic. Page 6

  9. Hobbies. • Czech people like playing board games, card tricks, and lots of sport. The Czech people are also on the top ten list of unlikely countries that make really good video games. • More traditional Czech games are when all children sit in a circle, one of them is chosen as Pesek. Everyone closes eyes except Pesek, while Pesek walks around and says “Pesek walks around us, don’t look at him, who will look at him, they will be banged to be Pesek.” Then Pesek touches someone on their back. The person who has been touched has to run after Pesek. If the person doesn’t catches Pesek, then that person is now Pesek. If he does catch Pesek, then Pesek is still Pesek. Page 7

  10. Conclusion. Overall, I think Prague will be a lovely place to visit and I can’t wait until June! The food looks nice and there are some interesting places to visit. The end! Page 8
