  1. 8 Tips for Great portrait photography

  2. Portrait photography could be a mix of odds and evens. Sometimes, as simple as adjusting your camera and many a times, as difficult as adjusting pre-school toddlers to take an image. And even though you possess the latest DSLRs to get more crisp images, adjusting people could be a daunting task. Mentioned below are some of the tips which you could imbibe to get better photographic images:

  3. Get Your Camera’s Metering System Right The metering system of your camera could be vital to ensure the amount of light entering the camera and make correct exposure. Even a wide aperture could be favorable to capture effective portraits.

  4. Shutter speed setting • While you set shutter speed, focus on the focal length of lens or the camera could experience a shake and this becomes an issue. As a thumb rule, ensure to keep shutter speed higher than the effective focal length.

  5. Choice of Lens The lens which you choose could also have a big impact on the images. While shooting portraits with visual impact, use a wide-angle lens for better effects.

  6. Creative Composition • Zoom into the image to fill the frame and get a more inspiring image. You could even position your subject to one side of the frame.

  7. Use of a Reflector • For a professional touch of brightness in your portraits, get a reflector. These could be used for indoors and for outdoor images as well to fill the undesired shadows.

  8. Poses For The Portrait One of the major differences between a good and not-so-good image is the pose of the subject. Assist them for their facial expressions; whether to smile or not.

  9. For sunny days, use fill flash Odd it may seem to be, using flash for outside when sunny could be a great way to capture gorgeous images.

  10. Get a good flashgun • A dedicated flashgun is more powerful than the one in your camera. This is to ensure a bright burst of light when you take images. • Getting a good image is easy. All you need to do is consider some points and you are ready to capture a real world in your camera.
