How does it work? • This is similar to the previous rule and BOMDAS. • Every index inside the brackets needs to be multiplied by the index on the outside. Confused... Give it a go.
Example (x/y)m = (x1/y1)m = x1xm/y1xm = xm/ym Make sure you leave it in index form. However you only need to write the first and the last line.
