  1. Introduction • Thank you for taking the time to view this slideshow, it will walk you through the re-assembly and pieces of your watch. • To skip a slide simply press the right arrow key or to go back to a previous slide, press the left arrow key. • Thank you again and enjoy the show.

  2. Gents Rolex Tudor Prince OysterdateReference #74000, serial #137,386, Caliber 2824-2 (ETA), 25 jewelsStainless steel case and bracelet, original dial, acrylic crystal, screw on back and screw down crown. Gold hands and dial markers

  3. As found, the watch movement was loose in the case because the case clamps were wrong. The oscillating weight bearings were worn out completely and most of the movement screws were badly damaged.

  4. As always, all case and movement parts were completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, reassembled and properly lubricated.

  5. Clean parts of the movement.

  6. The base movement parts.

  7. Calendar and dial side parts.

  8. Automatic winding system parts.

  9. Clean time train side of pillar plate. Notice the ETA markings at about the 12 o’clock position.

  10. Clean calendar side of same pillar plate.

  11. Notice the ETA movement marked “Tudor Geneve 28 24 on the plate.

  12. One of the best things about this vintage watch is that it still has its original dial.

  13. Backside of original dial

  14. Butler silver with gold markers.

  15. Marked “SWISS” under 6 o’clock.

  16. New genuine original replacement case clamps are no longer available, so I had to make this pair. Shown with old screws.

  17. At one time this watch had engraving on the back. When it was removed, most of the original engraving was also removed. It used to say “Original Oyster Case By Rolex Geneva”

  18. The stainless case back has some pits in it that do not allow for the case to be water resistant any longer. Replacing the caseback is a very good idea.

  19. Inside caseback after cleaning.

  20. Pitted sealing surface.

  21. Close up of pits.

  22. As seen under a microscope.

  23. 48deltaWD is my registered casemark.

  24. Old case back.

  25. Case back should look like this.

  26. Finished movement crown left.

  27. Finished movement crown right.

  28. The luminous in the original hands had long ago become discolored and was replaced with black enamel for best daylight visibility.

  29. Excellent condition original bracelet.

  30. Super nice all original vintage Rolex Tudor. Something over 30 years old according to Rolex. It is now running at chronometer rate and except for the caseback, it would be a 99% watch. Very nice. A pleasure to service.

  31. Thank you for your business, I appreciate the opportunity to serve you. This watch should be serviced again in 2010 and be seen annually for a checkup.
