EHR Genomic Data Integration • Genomic Indicators now available in Epic • Evolving functionality – not perfect • Discrete data viewed very differently from scanned reports • More visible and potentially actionable – bad things happen (Loeys-Dietz) • New type of data – how will physicians react/use the data • Define type of information should be displayed with the variant • Need for “gatekeeper” to vet variants prior to adding • Need for a way to provide context around variants

  3. Infobutton Implementation • Challenges • EHR team gets lots of requests – difficult to get on the radar • A system-wide integration is not a simple process • Who will oversee content • Lack of available content • Lack of understanding of utility • Where will it be deployed for genomics
