Development - action research Libraries Development Initiative • the Arts Council’s first specific funding initiative • looking at innovative and sustainable new models of service delivery • 13 grants of up to £20,000 awarded in February 2012 and due to complete in March 2013 • applications were invited under the following four themes: New delivery models for arts and culture working together Co-ordinating partnerships to achieve wider community outcomes Commercial partnerships Books and reading
Development - research into Envisioning the library of the future Programme of research and consultation which will help the Arts Council develop a long-term vision for public libraries in England. The research consisted: • trends and innovation reviews • Delphi survey • online conversation - www.librariesconversation.wordpress.com • 5 regional workshops with stakeholders • 6 workshops and an online conversation with the public Dalston Library, Hackney.
