Short Description of the Project or Technology Photo / drawing/ illustration This Program has been developed for the purpose of implementing strategy for membrane technologies assimilation in Kazakhstan to be competitive on global market, within the National Program of Forced Industrial Innovation Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010 – 2014, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No.958 dated 19 March. It provides developing all the elements, including complete process flows: from scientific researches to operation and commercial application of membrane equipment with further development capacity.
Applicability of the Technologyin Kazakhstan For solving the problem of stable water supply for rural people; For reducing water basin pollution with industrial wastes; Separating and concentrating fluid liquids, electromembrane synthesis Mastering and developing promising techniques for natural and waste water treatment as well as searching for new engineering solutions to provide water consumers of different categories with environmental safety. Application of hybrid membrane techniques for water treatment for iron and steel plants and energy providers will enable them to diminish amount of liquid wastes and to create closed-loop recirculation systems. Over 300 local treatment plants of different capacity were constructed and put into operation. 2 monographs were published, over 20 patents were obtained An advantage of membrane techniques for industrial wastes treatment over any other technology is a near absence of chemical agents. General requirements for industrial wastes treatment process include maximum return of treated water and useful components for recycling. Even today, trade effluent charge per a cubic meter is the same as a cost of a cubic meter of drinking water, provided standard dumping of pollution agents.
