2. Defining the Problem • The community college transfer student who seeks the bachelor’s degree but fails, negatively affects many: • Him or Herself • The Community College & 4-year Institution • Family • American Economy • Global Economy Moorat Ali

Explaining the Goal • What would cause the community college transfer student to fail? • The cc transfer student has already proven that s/he can do college-level work! • We brainstormed for these possible variables. • We decided upon 8 variables/hypotheses and formed 8 research teams.
