Major Concerns with Current Conditions on Williams: High volumes of cyclist and narrow bike lanes create dangerous passing conditions Busy bike lane directly subjected to opening doors of parked vehicles Leap frog with busses Not a low-stress avenue
Methodology • North bound one way street • Vehicles traveling away from downtown • Peak hour in PM • Multiple Users • Cars • Bikes • Busses
What We Did. • We counted cars on Williams Ave. at major intersections. • The data was compared to the Synchro model data • The Synchro model was manipulated to represent more limiting circumstances • Research and brainstorming for practical changes to the road section at intersections • We picked the most viable and safety conscious option.

What We Chose Left Side Bike Lane (Away from Curb) Why we chose this: Easier for cars to pull over and park. A larger buffered bike lane than current conditions. Model currently exists in Portland. Bus/Bike conflicts reduced
