The Life cycle of a frog. From tadpole to frog. A female frog lays thousands of eggs in spring. She lays them near still water in woodlands and bogs. The eggs are called frogspawn . It looks like greyish/white jelly with a black dot in the centre.

From tadpole to frog • A female frog lays thousands of eggs in spring. • She lays them near still water in woodlands and bogs. • The eggs are called frogspawn. • It looks like greyish/white jelly with a black dot in the centre.
The black dot becomes a tadpole. They eat the jelly around them.
Frogspawn to tadpole • As they grow, they grow a tail. • They breathe through gills like a fish. • They use their tail to swim. • They grow back legs first.
Living on land. • As they grow front legs, their lungs develop and they can start to breathe on land.
The frog • Now the frog can live on land and breathe under water. • They use their back legs to jump and their front legs to land and balance. • They use their long sticky tongue to catch insects.
Wiggle, waggle, wiggle • Underneath the water weeds, small and black I wriggle • And life is most surprising, wiggle, waggle, wiggle, • There’s every now and then a most exciting change in me, • I wonder wiggle, waggle, • What I will turn out to be……
