U.S. Status for Vehicle Communications • The U.S. FCC continues to examine the possibility for sharing 5.9 GHz with Wi-Fi • The Wi-Fi proposal includes a device certification regime • The U.S. NHTSA issued an NPRM for 5.9 GHz in January • Not clear what the current administration will do • Vehicle manufacturers are split between supporting IEEE 802.11p and Cellular V2X • The U.S. NHTSA is waiting to see a demo of cellular V2X Pg 3 |
