Treatise 1 - The Gospel Of Luke Lesson 14 – More Healing 14:1-6 • Jesus was invited into the house of a Pharisee on a Sabbath v. 1 • Present also was a man who was afflicted with dropsy v. 2
Dropsy • Abnormal accumulation in body tissue • Commonly attributed to faulty heart, lungs • Bloating of the face • Arms & legs severely swollen, “doughy-like” • Abdomen feels like a drum • Difficulty in breathing • Gallons can be drawn off; body fills up again Zondervan Pictorial Encyclopedia Of The Bible, Vol. 2, p. 134
