  2. Committees and Their Chairs Where are YOUR interests? Communications & Social Media • Chair: Karen Bond, Travel Manager for HNTB Corporation Serves as information source for the GBTA Kansas City website; directs media relations for the Association. Education • Chair: Diane Hammons, Travel Manager for Burns & McDonnell Oversees the Association’s efforts to provide educational opportunities for its membership. Responsible for site selection, securing keynote speakers, and all arrangements for general membership monthly educational meetings and special events (including Education Day). Membership • Chair: Jill Davis, Director of Sales for Hampton Inn & Suites Kansas City Country Club Plaza Coordinates programs to generate new memberships among qualified personnel. Also provides staffing and special services for Association events, greeting members, helping with registration, etc.

Philanthropic • Chair: Kelsey Pulley, National Account Manager for Acendas Travel Promotes GBTA – Kansas City’s image and presence as a helping hand in our community by planning and executing membership events that raise funds to support non-profit organizations and assist operations of the Association. Political Action Committee (PAC) & Government Relations • Chair: Mark Champagne, Sr. Business Development Manager at ExecustayCorporate Housing This committee handles all legislative issues locally, globally and nationally Professional Development & Scholarship • Chair: Kristin Danko, Sales Manager for Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza The primary role of this committee is to effectively manage Professional Development opportunities for the GBTA Kansas City Chapter membership. 

  4. Committees and Their Chairs Where are YOUR commitments? Sponsorship • Chair: Megan Howard, Director of Sales for Short’s Travel Management The goal of the Committee is to create a base of sponsorship support that will maintain and increase the financial strength of GBTA Kansas City while providing valuable opportunities to our sponsors to promote their products and services.  The Committee works on sponsorship support both on a chapter level as well as for specific events.
