Coach Hicks is entering his 8th season as Head Coach of the Spartans’ Boy’s Soccer Program. Previously, in 2002 and 2003, he served as the Assistant Coach at BRHS, where the Spartans won the District Championship both years. In 2003, the boy’s soccer team advanced to the state semi-finals. As Head Coach, the Spartans have won three District Championships in 2004, 2009 and 2010. The team appeared in the Regional Championships in 2009 and 2010, winning the title in 2010. The team advanced to the State Semifinal Championships in both 2009 and 2010. Additionally, Coach Hicks earned the honor of being named District Coach of the Year for the Dulles District and Regional Coach of the Year for Region II in Virginia in both 2009 & 2010. In 2010, Hicks was named the Loudoun All Extra’s Loudoun Coach of the Year. Coach Hicks played collegiate soccer at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. After moving to Virginia, Coach Hicks married his wife, Laura Hicks, in August of 2009. Laura teaches in the Science Department at Broad Run High School and is an avid supporter at all of Coach Hicks‘ soccer games and tournaments. Coach Hicks’ mother, Debbie, has coached boys soccer at Dixon Middle School in Snead’s Ferry, NC, while his father, Kevin, is the Head Coach for the boy’s soccer at both Dixon High School and Dixon Middle School. In addition, Coach Hicks’ brother, Paul, is the boy’s and girl’s Head Coach at Ronald Reagan High School in Winston-Salem, NC. In addition to his high school team, Jonathan coaches for Loudoun Soccer Club. He is the Head Coach of the Boy’s 96 Red & Black soccer program, NCSL Division 2 and NCSL Division 5 teams, respectively. Coach Hicks also runs the American Youth Soccer Academy, conducting numerous soccer camps in Virginia and North Carolina for hundreds of players during the summer months. Most recently, Coach Hicks completed his National Diploma with NSCAA in August of 2010.
