A Sample of IRAS-Selected Seyfert 1.5 Galaxies: IR Color Dominated Eigenvector 1 J. Wang 1; J. Y. Wei1 and X. T. He2 1National Astronomical Observatories, CAS 2Department od Astronomy, Beijing Normal University Aug 2005, Liang Yunnan
Motivation and Approach • We study an IR-selected Seyfert 1.5 sample to • Relate the well document Eigenvector 1 relationships to nuclear starformation history: IR index α(60,25) (see Boroson & Green 1992; Grupe 2004; de Gijp et al. 1985) • Conform the relation between RFe (=FeII/H βB ) and [OIII]/HβN found by Xu et al.(2003) : Seyfert 1.5 H βprofile The sample (N=50) were selected from IRAS survey and Veron-Cetty & Veron (2001)
Results • α(60,25) related correlations RFe L([OIII]) α(60,25) [OIII]/HβN EW(HβB)
In confirmation of Xu et al. (2003), Seyferts with large RFe and [OIII]/HβN are rare in our Universe
Principle component analysis • Our eigenvector 1 is dominated by α(60,25) and strongly affected by RFe, EW(HβB), and [OIII]/HβN • We arrive: • We first extend the Eigenvector 1 to infrared field. • Our Eigenvector 1 relates with nuclear starformation history, and could be explained as “AGE” of AGN. α(60,25) α(60,100)
