Requirements for Graduation Required Credits = 20.5 Minimum elective credits = 6.5 Total for graduation = 27
Important to Remember: • Minimum graduation requirements should not be confused with college admission requirements. Note: It is recommended that each student take a minimum of 7 credits per year.
PARCC Testing replaces HSPA • HSPA will not be administered after Spring 2014 • Beginning in Spring 2015, high school students will be required to take six new PARCCtests • Language Art tests in grades 9, 10 & 11 • Math tests for Geometry, Algebra I and Algebra II • Scores will be reported on student transcripts and school performance reports, but there will not be a passing score required for graduation • The state’s current graduation tests, the HSPA and the AHSA, will disappear after the class of 2015 (current juniors) graduates

PowerSchool Parent Access Teacher recommendations for English, Social Studies, Math, & Science are not available. When those recommendations become available, the high school counselors will add them to the students’ list of requests. On the screen below parents and their students should focus on World Languages, elective choices, and alternates only.
Scheduling Timeline- Spring 2014 Initial course request material will be mailed in the spring to be verified by parent. Final recommendations regarding student placement are due May 9, 2014, which gives students ample opportunity to demonstrate ability level. • The deadline for schedule and/or placement changes is June 1, 2014. • Schedules will be given to students on the first day of school.
Helpful Hints for a Successful Appointment Review course selections prior to appointment. Choose alternative electives. Come prepared with questions. Remind your childto be prepared for their appointment as their presence is key to this process.
