12-13 Reading AMO Goals & Data By Spring 2013, we will meet or exceed our Annual Measureable Objectives (AMOs) for all students (Overall= 64.0%) and subgroups (White= 61.6% and Low Income= 59.5%) in Reading. 2012-13 Reading Overall: 56.9%
Reading Action Items In Grade Level Teams, teachers will use formative and summative data as documented in Data Binders to target, monitor, and track the progress of individual student achievement in reading. Teachers will follow best practices in effective literacy instruction by implementing Words Their Way (WTW) and the Language Arts curriculum, Good Habits Great Readers (GHGR) using the Daily 5 framework. This will include creating common grade level assessments for each GHGR unit. District-wide Grade Level and Building Late Start Staff Meetings will be used for collaboration on implementation of the Language Arts curriculum (GHGR & WTW) and best practices in effective reading strategies and common assessments
Reading Action Items (cont.) A Family Literacy Night will be offered in the Fall to inform families on how they can support their child at home with literacy achievement and to share best practices through the Language Arts curriculum. Read At Home (RAH) Program will be continued to encourage students to read nightly at home. Using online leveled K-5 Reading program (RazKids.com), students will be given opportunity to read engaging texts at their appropriate reading level both at school and at home. Teachers will align their literacy lessons to the CCSS and become more familiar with using them as learning targets through a staff book study. Teachers will continue ongoing implementation of our Area of Focus (Purpose/Standards (CCSS) and the role of Student (ownership) including evidence collection and monitoring progress) aligned with our Five Dimensions (5D’s) of Teaching and Learning as directed by next steps from 5D Cadre Members

Math Action Items In Grade Level Teams, teachers will use formative and summative data as documented in Data Binders to target, monitor, and track the progress of individual student achievement in math. Students will frequently use online math programs (IXL.com and Xtramath.com) at school and at home to engage in leveled math activities aligned to grade level Common Core State Standards.
