Founder: Alice Xie • 2013: The Inaugural Penn Symposium on Contemporary China • Brought in scholars from esteemed institutions including Princeton, John Hopkins, Cornell, Georgetown, and Boston College. • Our keynote speakers: • Dr. Harry Harding, Founding Dean of the Batton School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia • Rachel Wasser, Co-founder of Teach for China Our History

Kimberly Schreiber • Junior in the college • Majoring in literary and cultural theory • Minoring in Chinese and art history • I spent my last summer of high school living in Kunming and working for the NGO Operation Smiles • General Responsibilities: • Organize two keynote speakers to bring to PSCC Keynotes

Time Commitment: • Flexible and remote research and emailing on your own time • Expectations & Skills: • Can communicate amiably over email and phone to adults • Gives the impression of a responsible, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable individual • Perks • Have the opportunity to truly define the issues the are discussed at this years symposium • Form personal relationships with the keynote speakers and make lasting connections What Keynotes is Looking For
