DNV GL STRATEGICRESEARCH & INNOVATION (~80 empl. 2013) • DNV GL provides strategic research and innovation with primary focus on new knowledge and technology areas that have a long term impact on our business development. • We primarily invest in research and innovation supporting the long term business goals of the current strategy, but also explore emerging opportunities which may become part of future strategy. The research activities are coupled with business development initiatives and service piloting. Current research encompasses the following areas:
The project PLATOS • The PLATOS project aims to assist the network operators (e.g. Hafslund) to place and size storage units in power grids such that the storage injection or consumption of power relieves the lines/cable loading.
Your involvement Working scope: • Help formulate the mathematics/optimization problem. • Identify suitable solvers (preferably open-source products) • Implement the prototype in MATLAB Your qualifications: • Strong mathematics background, especially in optimization. • Programming skills in MATLAB • Knowledge of power grids is NOT required. • Most of all, you are curious and eager to explore new territories.
