My Summer of Art 2013 • Garden – Colorsand shapes growing in my vegetable garden • Pool – Movement and rhythm in the water • Conference – Architectural forms of the Charlotte, NC civic center and hotel • Beach – the textures of seashells and underwater creatures • Louisville Zoo – Patterns on animals, reptiles, and fish • Salato Center – the beautiful space of natural habitats • Biltmore – the balance, contrast, and even unity of nature found in the gardens with the man-made art of the Vanderbilt mansion. • Shopping – emphasis on nautical-themed fashions and the values of different colored clothing. • Driving – to follow a line from Point A to Point B on vacation. • Gatlinburg – amazing shapes and silhouettes of the Smokey Mountains.
Got art talent? • Do you doodle often? • Do you often have a pencil or pen in hand? • Do you create art at home in your spare time? • Do you want to learn how to get better at being an artist? • Do you or have you ever taken an art class outside of school? • Do you build things for fun? • Do you think you are a good artist? • Do others often say you are a good artist? • Do you create a variety of different styles of art? • Do you draw in ink without fear? • Do you know the importance of art in our lives? • Do you often keep your good pieces of art? • Do you use your art skills in other classes at school?
How to Behave? • Enter the room and get to work immediately. • Have your folder, notebook, agenda with BRAVES sheet, and sharpened pencil on the table. • Sit quietly and listen when someone is speaking. • Follow the class rule of “BE SAFE” emotionally, physically, and verbally, • Leave the room clean. • Store folders and notebooks in the room before you leave. • Push chairs in before you leave.
Respect the Room Get all supplies, pencil sharpened, folder, and notebook before sitting. Always put supplies and artwork away! Sit quietly when working! Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself! Turn work in designated place! Place nothing on the teacher’s desk! Class phone is emergency reasons only!
Recycling Thursdays • 5-7greenbins • Empty all redbins and return • Sweep floor • Rollgreenbins outside along driveway • Return to class, wash hands, return badges
Dismissal • For 6th Hour… • Bus/Car/Walker • No backpacks/coats • Room clean • Quiet in seat during announcements • Read/do homework/ or extra cleaning with permission • Exitonly for your dismissal, please stackchairs • For All… • Room clean • Quiet in seat • Dismissed by artist’s name above table
