  1. Astrocamp 2010 • • A unique learning opportunity for essential science skills and knowledge. • • An ongoing Fairburn tradition--4 years running. • • A chance for students to expand their limits and gain self-confidence.

  2. Astrocamp is located in , about 120 miles and 2 hours east of Westwood. Idyllwild Fairburn Astrocamp

  3. Students sleep in dorm-style rooms, 4-6 to a room. Genders are separated by floor or by building.

  4. We arrange the rooms, picking from students’ lists of 4 friends. We promise them at least one friend in their room.

  5. The food’s great!! •Astrocamp’s wide array of food accommodates most diets • Refrigeration is available for those on very restrictive diets

  6. Notice: the pool activity is shallow and well-supervised!

  7. Chaperones • We will have 3 male & 3 female chaperones • (including the teachers). • If you’re: • interested in being one • willing to be “on” around the clock (e.g., supervising classrooms, keeping order in the dorms, sharing tables at mealtime…), • let your child’s teacher know ASAP.

  8. Logistics • Kids will be incommunicado for 3 days--no phones. • Chaperones canreach parents, if urgent. • No electronic devices. • Digital cameras fine for responsible kids. Otherwise, • bring less expensive models.

  9. Logistics • Registration packet to include: • essential medical form • Packing list • Important information • Cost of Tuition: $295 -- includes t-shirt • Bring no more than $25 extra for gift shop. • Fundraising opportunities are available-- • contact your child’s teacher.
