LOVEUNTIL FOUNDATION NEWSLETTER #2
Children’s Homes • In keeping with our mission of a holistic approach to individual development, Loveuntil operates a home for young ladies in crisis at Tacarigua. We currently accommodate girls ranging in age from eight to sixteen. • In March, we will open a home for boys in Curepe. The same goals obtain for the boys’ home as previously stated for the girls. • A need that is hardly addressed is that of the boys and girls who have to leave these “children’s homes” at the age of eighteen with no place to go. Surveys show that such young persons end up on the streets; victims of all forms of abuse; prostitutes and perpetrators of crime. Accommodation must be provided for such youths to break this cycle. This is a dire and urgent need Loveuntil will in part address by launching a Transition Home at a date and location to be announced.
Sponsorship: • We are in search of sponsors for the children at our homes. The projected cost of up-keeping a child is $1000 per month. • Contributions can be made on an individual or group basis, e.g. Twenty persons can contribute $50 each or fifty person can contribute $20 each or any possible variation. • We are willing to facilitate workplace seminars to show the need and how it can be addressed. Furthermore, we are also seeking assistance to help furnish the boys home and to pay our monthly rental bill.
Programmes: • We have put together a comprehensive programme of life skills, school work, spiritual development and play for the children. • Individuals wishing to volunteer in this regard are welcomed.
