CH-29 LAND BRIDGE ROAD • Bridge Built in 1977 • Spans the Chauga River • Serves Recreational & Transportation Needs
CH-29 LAND BRIDGE ROAD Project Includes: • Realignment • Upgrade Structure • Improve Drainage • Improve Water Quality
CH-29 LAND BRIDGE ROAD IS A ONE LANE BRIDGE 2 TONS PER AXLE, 3 TONS GROSS “FUNCTIONALLY OBSOLETE” 1
Land Bridge Road • The bridge has weight restrictions. In extreme cases this can cause an additional 7.26 miles of travel. In a sickness or fire, this much response time delay can make a critical difference. • Emergency responders must determine the location of the emergency along Land Bridge Road and then determine if the road should be accessed from Verner Mill Road or Whetstone Road.

CH-75 Low Water Bridge Road Project will: • Improve Stream Crossing • Improve Water Quality • Improve Environment
Low Water Bridge Road has no bridge, but instead is a ford. It is located just beyond a primitive campground and must be crossed to provide access to residents and visitors to Snyder Cemetery. • Low Water Bridge Road project will improve aquatic passage, public safety, wildlife habitat, decrease pollutants from vehicles passing through the water, and reduce sediment going into the Chattooga River.
CH -82 West Village Creek RoadAnd PU-9 Brushy Mountain Road These projects include: • Widen road. • Increase sight distance. • Provide safer passage. • Provide better drainage.
West Village Creek Road and Brushy Mountain Road Improve public safety by: • Provide a turn around for visitors and emergency vehicles • Provide a wider driving surface. • Slope and stabilize banks to improve sight distance near the curves. • Provide all-weather driving surface. Improve forest and stream health by : • Stabilizing roadside banks and ditches. • Paving the road will prevent stone from washing off the road during heavy rains.
