Activities This Year • Presence at each other’s conferences • Roberts at NLTAPA Winter and Summer meetings • Grothaus, Pitts and Harris at NACE Annual conference • Sessions at each other’s conferences • Safety focus at NACE • Center-Affiliate partnership session at LTAP/TTAP Conference • Update partnership agreement

  3. The Agreement Main agreement to be renewed every 4 years Includes annual list of specific partnership action items and calendar for tracking them Action items updated annually

  4. 4 Goals 1) Maintain regular and productive communications between the Associations. 2) Implement national-level partnership activities that engage LTAP/TTAP Centers and NACE to benefit counties. 3) Support the continuation and growth of NACE, and the LTAP/TTAP Program, and NLTAPA. 4) Promote and encourage engagement between NACE affiliates and individual LTAP/TTAP Centers -- for the purpose of increasing the quality and quantity of training, technical assistance and technology transfer to counties.

  5. Goal 1 • Maintain regular and productive communications between the Associations. • Leadership and/or liaisons to attend at least one national meeting of the partner during the year – and participate in on meaningful ways. • Liaisons and leaders will meet regularly, in person or by phone, to advance action items.

  6. Goal 2 • Implement national-level partnership activities that engage Centers and NACE to benefit counties. • NLTAPA to identify members to serve as representatives on the NACE safety and pavement preservation committees. • NACE to identify members to serve as representatives on the NLTAPA safety and training work groups.

  7. Goal 2 continued Develop and implement at least one joint activity to promote roadway safety awareness and training. By September 15, NLTAPA to send to NACE 6 “safety shorts” for NACE to publish in its newsletter. They will focus on county level safety plans or TZD and will have an attribution for LTAP. Engage LTAP/TTAP in the NACE Towards Zero Death (TZD) Plan. By January 2014, identify potential roles for LTAP/TTAP Centers in the NACE TZD Plan with proposed action steps for LTAP/TTAP engagement. At quarterly liaison calls, exchange articles of mutual interest for publication in the other organization's publications.

  8. Goal 3 3) Support the continuation and growth of NACE, and the LTAP/TTAP Program, and NLTAPA. Increase NACE presence at regional meetings of local, state, and federal transportation partners where LTAP/TTAP has a role in planning the agendas. NACE board to hold their fall meeting at the Western Regional Meeting in Laughlin, NV in 2013.

  9. Goal 3 continued Encourage attendance by members of each organization to the other's annual meetings. (The agreement has action steps for sending conference information to each other well in advance, for sending to members.)

  10. Goal 4 4) Promote and encourage engagement between NACE affiliates and individual LTAP/TTAP Centers. (Purpose is to increase the quality and quantity of training, technical assistance and technology transfer to counties.) NLTAPA to host a session at its 2013 conference on how to get started on developing such a partnership. Illinois’s experience will be highlighted.
