Kindergarten ExpectationsBased on the National Common Core Standards Language Arts Develop knowledge of letters and their sounds Use letter sound correspondence to read and write Blending sounds to read words Identifying the beginning, middle, and end sound of words. Read sight words independently and in text. Read grade-level books. Participate in reading activities with fiction and non-fiction books Write a complete sentence using capitalization and punctuation. Write upper and lowercase letters and use in creative writing activities.
Mathematics Count aloud to 100. Count objects up to 30 items. Pattern (create and extend) Identify numbers 0-100 Write numbers 0-30 Count by 5’s and 10’s to 100; 2’s to 30 Identify coins (penny, nickel, dime, quarter) and know corresponding value. Basic addition and subtraction Identify more than and less than Kindergarten ExpectationsBased on the National Common Core Standards
