Animals of The Rainforest

Tree Frog • Sleep in the day underneath big leaves. • Use their large eyes to scare away predators.

Capuchin Monkey • Small monkey. • Live in the tall trees of the rainforest. • Eat fruit from the trees.

Toucan • Has a big, colourful bill. • Uses it to reach fruit on small branched of trees. • Live in small flocks of 6 birds together.

Sloth • Has special claws to help hold onto branches. • Eats plants and leaves. • They move very slowly.

Butterflies • There are 1000’s of species of butterflies on the rainforest. • They have very bright colours on their wings.

Parrots • Bright, colourful feathers. • Live high up in the trees. • Eat fruit from trees.

Jaguar • Largest cat in the world. • Eat crocodiles, snakes, monkeys, sloths and frogs.

Snakes • Some snakes are poisonous. • Live in nests. • Eat birds and frogs. • They lay eggs to have babies.

Spiders • Spiders have 8 legs. • There are lots of different size spiders (some look scary!)
