  4. what is the employee assistance program? A resource outside the work environment available to employees and their benefit eligible family members to utilize whenever they are experiencing personal problems or need a resource. Wellspring partners with your company to provide resources that support productivity and healthy living. The EAP benefit will include: - Information and resources thru a telephone consult - Face to face contact with a counselor - Website interaction

  5. what is the employee assistance program? confidential The hallmark of an EAP is that it is confidential. Wellspring will not and does not release any information back to the company regarding an individual unless Wellspring has their expressed written permission.

  6. what is the employee assistance program? provided by your company without cost to you This is also a benefit that is paid for by the company so it is of real savings to the employee to access professional services with no out of pocket expenses.

  7. why do people call? Family/Relationship Concerns most frequent requests for assistance involve family or relationship concerns couples, parents & pre-marital Emotional and Behavioral Problems depression, anxiety, anger management Compulsive Behaviors food, sex, gambling, internet

  8. why do people call? Work Stress affecting health, family, concentration Control Issues Intimidation, explosive anger, domestic violence

  9. here are some examples • A couple who wants to improve their communication in the relationship • A parent who wants information on how to deal with a teenager who is depressed • An individual who gets anxious in social situations • An individual who needs some help in communicating with a co-worker • An individual struggling with a gambling problem • Information on substance abuse treatment

  10. the assessment process An individual can call the toll free phone line 24/7 to speak with a Wellspring professional The service begins when the individual calls the toll free line. This phone is always answered live, although if all the intake staff are on the phone, the individual might be in the queue for a short time. There is always an option to leave a message if the individual does not want to wait. A call back will be made to them within an hour. The intake staff are all masters level clinicians, thus able to handle any issue that might come across the phone lines.

  11. the assessment process The individual will either be given information on the phone or an appointment with an assessment provider • The individual will be asked to briefly describe what problem or resource they need help with and then will either be assisted with: • a resource • transferred to a specialist • Attorney • Eldercare or Childcare Specialist or • Financial consultant • helped with scheduling an appointment.

  12. the assessment process The individual calls the provider to schedule an appointment If the individual wants to be seen face to face, then the intake staff asks for best times and days they can schedule and facilitates the appointment. The intake staff contacts the assessment provider and informs them that an individual or couple is being referred. The individual or the provider will make the first contact based on preferences stated in the initial intake call.

  13. the assessment process assessment visits completed • After the assessment the provider: • May have helped the individual resolve the presenting problem • May recommend ongoing care • The individual has the option of continuing with that provider though they are always given the option of another referral.

  14. provider network standards Wellspring’s assessment providers are required to meet these standards • ALL COUNSELORS MUST HAVE: • Masters or Doctorate degree and be licensed or certified to practice • Minimum of five years in practice • Professional office location • Maintain membership in professional organization and complete ongoing education each year • Must maintain malpractice insurance • Demonstrate knowledge of community resources

What is the legal service? • Access to a consultation of up to 30 minutes with a telephonic or local, in-person attorney. • Consultation consists of an analysis of the situation and advice on how to proceed. There is no document review or creation during this free consultation. • If the employee chooses to retain the referred attorney, they receive a 25% discount off the attorney’s hourly fee • Excellent law library and legal documents available on the website • Benefit is ‘per issue’ legal - financial • What is covered? • Covered Issues: Family Law, Criminal, Bankruptcy, Adoption, Eldercare/wills/ trusts/estate planning, Consumer Issues • Excluded Issues: EMPLOYMENT related for employees and family members, own business, class action lawsuits, taxes
