  4. Basic information • founded on January 1999 • is a non-profit, non-governmental private association financed by its members, and it provides a forum and lobbying platform for its members

Basic information • promotes the use of Intelligent Transport Systems within the Czech Republic and is open to all organizations, domestic and foreign, involved in any capacity in Intelligent Transport Systems • was funded to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences among ITS professionals and organizations interested in shaping the opinions and preparing for the events, which affect ITS industries

The Purposes of ITS Czech Republic • to help the mutual association of companies and other parties interested in ITS in their activities in ITS projects in the Czech Republic • to create an environment in the Czech Republic that is favorable to the development of ITS systems and the implementation of ITS technologies • to develop business opportunities for its members in the Czech Republic

  7. Main Activity ITS CZ provides its members with information about latest developments in ITS technologies and implementations in the Czech Republic and worldwide. Members are informed about commercial and investment possibilities in the Czech Republic through a network of member and cooperating organizations. Membership also offers joint ventures and cooperation in research projects financed by the Czech government and EU.

Main Members Activities • Application of ITS technologies in River information system and water navigation • Tunnel fire safety – simulation of smoke distribution in European tunnels • Software development for on-line environmental simulation in road tunnels • Traffic management and data transfers on the Prague City ring between subcentres, detectors and controllers

Main Members Activities • Multinational project for improvement of information flow between users control centres and environmental on important road tunnels • Application of City logistic to the smooth and environmentally friendly urban transport • Application of ITS technologies for the benefit of Public transport • Intelligent road for road safety – application of latest knowledge and tools

  12. Main Members Activities • Application of IT for the increase of infrastructural Security in Europe • Support and participation on Smart moving 2005 Birmingham • Publications and Conferences • Transport towards the 3rd millennium – Successful stories, ITS opportunities
