LZ • Landing zone
AO • Area of operation

C-130 • A large aircraft, cargo plane
VC • Vietcong
AK-47 • Automatic assault rifle
M-16 and M-60 • Automatic rifle and machine gun (use the same size shells)
MP • Military police
CID • Intelligence people
Claymore • A mine
NVA buildup • North Vietnamese buildup for assault
LZ (Gator) • Landing zone (each had a code name for the location)
