Friends and Flags • You will be sharing your thoughts about America with students all around the world • You will be learning information about America (meeting 5th Grade Social Studies and Language Arts TEKS)

Friends and Flags • Each partner school will send us a package • The information they send us will be about their country • They have the same rubric as you do • Won’t it be interesting to see how they choose to present their information?
Friends and Flags • You will be using the Friends and Flags web site, discussion boards, and much more!

Friends and Flags • First step: do the research needed and make notes • Make sure that your information is up-to-date and accurate
Friends and Flags • Second Step: Decide how you want to present your information. • If you need help with any special format please ask one of your team members or Ms. Eason
Friends and Flags • Each person should do their part to make your group assignment successful • Remember you are representing America! • Think about your audience. Many of the students reading your work are learning English. Keep your work simple and easy to read.
Friends and Flags • Spreadsheets are easy to read and they are an excellent way to organize and share data or information
Friends and Flags • First select Microsoft Excel
Friends and Flags • Once Excel is open – go to File
Friends and Flags • Select “Save As…”
Friends and Flags • Type the name of your file
Friends and Flags • Then Save your workbook
Friends and Flags • If you would like to use a template in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or PowerPoint please check with Ms. Eason before starting • Remember Ms. Eason’s rules about using computers • If you have any questions please refer to your rubric, your team, or ask Ms. Eason
