  2. Airway and Ventilation • Chin lift/ Jaw thrust maneuver • Nasal trumpets • Oral airways • Rescue breathing position • Bag Valve Mask Breathing • CPR/ Pocket mask breathing

  3. Circulatory Assessment • Carotid, femoral, brachial, posterior tibial, dorsal pedal artery pulse checks • Cardiac assessment with stethoscope • Pallor and skin assessment for shock • Application of pressure dressings • Tourniquet application • Abdominal exam findings

  4. Neurologic exam skills • Assessment of pupils with and without penlight • Assessment for open skull fracture and/ or penetrating head injury • Assessment of paralysis level, motor and sensory • Assessment for palpating spinal injuries and stabilization using a backboard

  5. Splinting and Patient Transport • Humerus, forearm splints, and using cravats • Femur fracture splinting using backboard and splints • Tibia/ fibula fracture splinting • Wrist fracture splints • Assessment for pelvic fractures and treatment using a sheet/ binder • Fireman and two man carries for austere environment • Transport by litter
