  1. DHS Bulldog Announcements TUESday, OCTOber 1, 2019

  2. Early release • STUDENTS: PLEASE REMIND YOUR PARENTS THAT FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11TH IS A COUNTY-WIDE EARLY RELEASE DAY. STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED AT 12:15. PM ACADEMY STUDENTS WILL NOT ATTEND THE ACADEMY ON THAT DAY. ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO TAKE THEIR NORMAL MODE OF TRANSPORTATION HOME. • IF YOU ARE A CAR RIDER, PLEASE LET YOUR PARENTS KNOW THAT SCHOOL ENDS AT 12:15 PM ON THAT DAY. • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR FOOTBALL PLAYERS, CHEERLEADERS, DANCERS AND BAND MEMBERS WILL COME AT A LATER TIME.

  3. CAPS & GOWNS • Attention all Seniors graduating in May! Herff Jones will be at Dutchtown High School on Wednesday October 2nd to take Cap & Gown orders during all lunchES!

  4. ATHLETE OF THE WEEK • The athlete of the week is junior catcher Kaitlyn gardner. In the two games against stockbridge, she threw out a total of (3) tiger base runners trying to steal base and led the way offensively with (2) doubles and (6) runs batted in. • Great job, Kaitlyn!

  5. The thrill of victory! • CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GIRLS’ FLAG FOOtBALL TEAM FOR ANOTHER DOMINANT PERFORMANCE!! • The team defeated Hampton high school 42-0 and defeated mcdonough high school 24-0.

  6. LOANER DEVICES • Loaner devices are to be turned into the Technology Office in the Media Center on the same day they are checked out.

  7. A HELPING HAND • Peer tutoring assistance is available in the media center. • If you would like a helping hand, please come to the Media Center during any block except IF.

  8. BOYS’ BASKETBALL CONDITIONING • ALL BASKETBALL CONDITIONING WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY AND THURSDAY THIS WEEK AND NEXT WEEK.

  9. SENIOR FEES • All seniors graduating in May must pay the mandatory senior fee of $200. • The graduation fee includes graduation, senior apparel and a yearbook. • You may pay Ms. Martin in room 110 before school, during 4th block or directly after school. Please see Ms. Martin with questions.

  10. JUNIOR & SENIOR PROM • The junior and senior prom will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Four Seasons Atlanta. • Prom tickets are now on sale. TICKET price is $120 EACH UNTIL October 31. Prices will increase thereafter. • Tickets can be bought online at myschoolbucks.com. They may also be purchased from Ms. Johnson in room 224 using cash, check or money order.

  11. TAKE A LOOK AT A BOOK • The Book Club will meet this afternoon (10/1) from 3:30 to 4:15 PM. • Please bring the book that you are currently reading or check out a book before the meeting.

  12. PLAY BALL! • Varsity volleyball will host Griffin & Hampton High tonight (10/1) which is senior night. • come out and celebrate our seniors! Games begin at 5:15 PM.

  13. The Peer Team Meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the Month in room 324 with Mrs. S. Williams, school social worker Peer Mediation Team Dues are $20 and are due Oct. 2, 2019 The goals of the Peer Mediation Team are: To aid students with resolving disputes between two or more students with the goal of preventing the need of administration from becoming involved in simple disputes among students. To reduce office/behavioral referrals To create and promote activities that will make Dutchtown High School a safe and welcoming environment of inclusion and reduce bias, bullying, and give an appreciation for diversity.

  14. INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL • International Caribbean festival participants will meet on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 during IF in room 119. Please sign up with Ms. Kimble before the meeting during 3rd block in room 119. Thank you.

  15. FCCLA • FCCLA WILL HAVE THEIR WEEKLY MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2, IN ROOM 406 FROM 3:20 PM – 4:00 PM. • FCCLA WILL BE SELLING HOT BAKED POTATOES ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4. PRE-SALES ARE TAKING PLACE RIGHT NOW.

  16. BATTER UP! • There will be a baseball interest meeting/meet and greet on Thursday October 3, at 6pm. The meeting will begin in the media center, then move to the commons area. Any student interested in playing baseball this upcoming season will need to attend to receive important information and handouts. • We look forward to seeing you there!

  17. SENIOR PORTRAITS • Cady Studios will be back at DHS for the final senior yearbook picture day on Monday, October 14. • If you do not sign up for this day, you will have to go to one of the Cady Studios locations. • Please go to www.cadystudios.com to schedule your session. The cost is $30. See Ms. Martin in room 110 with questions.

  18. ROAD TRIP • The Georgia State College Tour will take place October 22nd.  The cost is $35. Students must be passing all classes to attend the trip. • Permission slips are available in the counseling office and available seats are first come first served. See Mrs. Johnson in the counseling office for questions.

  19. DUTCHTOWN’S GOT TALENT • Do you act, sing, dance, recite poetry, perform magic tricks or play an instrument? If so, come out to audition for the One Night Only: Talent Show. Soloists and groups are welcome! • Auditions will be on Tuesday, October 22, and Thursday, October 24. Please see Dr. Jolley in room 308 for an audition form. • The show will be on Friday, December 6. If your act makes the showcase, you are required to attend three show rehearsals.
