Handbook information • Classes should build, over the first few weeks, to around 60% of the school week of which around 50% should be solo class teaching. • As well as solo teaching the timetable might include team teaching and support teaching. During the remainder of the time, trainees should be observing other teachers and subjects, preparing lessons, marking or displaying work and discussing their work with the Class Teacher or Subject Mentor.
How many lessons on the timetable? • They have to be in class (solo, team or supporting) for 60% of the week • The bare minimum is solo teaching for 50% of the 60% • Observations are outside of the 60%
