Case 1 • 65 year old female • 6 month history of unilateral left knee pain • Neutral alignment • Medial tenderness • AROM 0-130 with pain • No instability • Good strength
Case 2 • Extremely healthy 58 year old male • Long history right knee pain • As a youth: had patella dislocation, open removal of “loose cartilage”
Case 2 • Pain is anterior • Rest pain: • Worse with prolonged sitting • Has tried: • Multiple cortisone injections and viscosupplementation • Patella brace Discussion • What to do?
Case 3 • 62 year old male • No prior surgery • Prior viscosupplementation and cortisone injections • Physical Exam • 20° varus • AROM 0-130° • No instability and good strength
Case 4 • 85 year old female • History • Right knee osteoarthritis • Exam • Valgus alignment; medial thrust • AROM 0° - 120° • Stable; Quad 5/5
Case 5 • 87 year old female with bilateral knee pain • (right > left) • Has tried: • Injections • PT • PMHx: • HTN • osteoporosis
Discussion • 1-stage Bilateral vs staged Bilateral • Type of Implant: • Standard condylar vs added constraint • Stems ? • Cemented • Uncemented What to do?
Post-op • Staged bilateral TKR • Added constraint for V-V stability • Press fit stems
Case 6 • 65 year old male complaining bilateral knee pain • Not responding to non-operative treatment • Functional disability • No significant comorbidities
Case 7 • 50 year old healthy male • 15 years s/p ACL reconstruction • Stable • AROM 5° - 140° • Quad 5/5
