Some collected responses'… “In the last few years the number of protesters at the Pride have diminished to a mere handful, this year 4 or 5 as opposed to dozens, even hundreds! People in Utah are realizing that the sky will not fall because we exist. People are able to come out with less backlash. “ “Pro - some love the diversity. Con - it's outside their norm.” “From moving away from Utah and into an area where there is MUCH more diversity on sexuality that is widely accepted I could say a Pro is: You find more self-confidence in yourself. a Con is: Others look upon you differently cause you choose to be who you are instead of what they want you to be. “ “Overtly accepted, passively shunned.”
Homosexual individuals feel that they are mainly not accepted in Utah because the predominance of the LDS religion, and their belief on “Family Values”. “Our civil rights have no dependence upon our religious opinions more than our opinions in physics or geometry” –Thomas Jefferson, statute for religious freedom 1779.
