Perhaps the most famous allegory is “The Chronicles of Narnia because…. Allegory (noun) A narrative or description having a 2nd meaning beneath the surface one.
Examples..Glug, glug. Slurp, Bang, pow, burp…. Onomatopoeia (noun) a word that sounds like what it means.
The grass dancedin the wind. Personification (adj) When an object takes on the traits of a living thing.
Just chill… my heart is as heavy as stone… Figurative (adj) Language that is not literal- describing things in terms of something else that is not similar.
Holding your nose is a universal connotation that someone smells. Connotation (noun) an idea that is implied or suggested.
I am as hungry as a horse is an example of a hyperbole. Hyperbole (noun) an extravagant exaggeration.
Examples: She sold sea shells by the seashore. Alliteration (noun) The start of 2 or more words with the same sound.
“She’s a brick house” is an example of a metaphor Metaphor (noun) a comparison between two different things not using “like” or “as”.
