Feature Article/Angles. What is a feature article?. A feature article is an article that goes into depth about a specific topic/event. A feature article has a specific angle it is trying to show. What is an angle?. An angle is HOW you are going to look at the subject of your feature article.

  2. What is a feature article? • A feature article is an article that goes into depth about a specific topic/event. • A feature article has a specific angle it is trying to show.

  3. What is an angle? • An angle is HOW you are going to look at the subject of your feature article. • What are you trying to show the reader about your subject. • How do you want your article to be focused?

  4. Example Your feature article topic is: College Football Bowl Games. Brainstorm ideas about Bowl Games: Driven by fan support Great way for teams to cap off season Lots of bowl games Teams that aren’t very good make bowl games

  5. Select one of your brainstormed topics Your feature article topic is: College Football Bowl Games. Brainstorm ideas about Bowl Games: Driven by fan support Great way for teams to cap off season Lots of bowl games Teams that aren’t very good make bowl games

  6. Use your angle to guide your research and map • Bowls Driven by fan support • How bowls select teams • What do fans do at bowls • How are they different than normal games (festivities) • Tailgating • Maybe follow a specific group of fans through one bowl.

  7. Your General Topic Choices 1. Twitter • iPhones and Aps You will need to figure out your angle for one of these two topics.

  8. Assignment (Pre Writing) • Select one of the general topics and brainstorm 4-5 possible angles you could use to examine your topic in a feature article. • Then select one of those angles and give me a general outline or map of how your article will flow.
