Background • Choral Groups Practice With Online Mp3s • Helps Members To Learn Music • Tracks Often Are Less Than Ideal • Listen To This Clip Segment • Conductor Stops And Talks • Not Useful For Practice • Let’s Improve it

Step 2 • Find Audio with Good or Useful Region • Listen to it • Bring it into your DAW Listen Here click icon to listen Good Clip Bad Clip
Step 3 • Align Timing Of Clip Being Edited • At Point of Corruption in Clip Being Edited • Use A “Snap To Beat” • Smart Grid in Sonar X3 • Otherwise Use Time Markers • Precision is Key Good Clip Bad Clip Point of Corruption
Step 4 • Highlight All Corrupted Audio In The Corrupt Clip • Delete It • Two Good Regions Exist in the “Corrupt clip • Align “Good” Regions of “Corrupt” Clip With The Good Clip’s Audio • Use Time Snap or “Smart Grid” Good Clip Corrupt Clip Good Regions of “Bad” Clip
Step 5 • Copy Replacement Region from the Good Clip • Paste It Into Region Deleted From The Corrupt Clip

Reflections • Spent The Week Examining Daws • Hence Late Start On This Assignment • Not Happy With Audacity Or AVS4U Products • Easy To Use But Technologically Constrained • Bought Sonar X3 Studio • An Awful Lot To Learn … I’m Barely 1% Up The Learning Curve • Music Production Jargon Is Strange • FX =Effects (Who’d A Guessed???) • Found A Couple Of Useful Glossaries Here’s One Http://Www.Recordingconnection.Com/Glossary/M/ • This Course’s Student Forum Very Very Helpful • For Those In The Forum Who May Suggest Otherwise • No … I Am Not A Retired Lawyer • I’m A Vocalist • Melodyne “Rocks”
