  2. RPC workshop ? Why ? • RPC system is working very well and during the 2009/2010 data taking has showed a very uniform behavior with a very high running efficiency (> 98%) • This workshop has been organized “to think about” the following very important questions: • What have we learned during the data taking ? • How can we improve our hardware, monitoring and software systems ? • Are we ready for a very long 2011/2012 data taking ? Workshop Goals • Discuss and Identify: • “week parts” of the system • tasks/services needed • core group of people at CERN • Discuss and organize: • how to consolidate our system (from the hardware to the data analysis) • how to cover all the tasks/services needed • support the core group and all the experts • 2011/2012 Organization chart • 2011 Financial budget commitment • 2012 Financial budget plan RPC Consolidation Workshop

Conclusions & CMS week • 4 sessions: Technical Coordination, Run Coordination, DPG and Upgrade • All the talks are focused on “how to improve our present system” • We will collect from the sessions all the requests, proposal and tasks. • They will be presented and discussed during the RPC General Meeting of the CMS week (Tuesday 7 Dec 9:30/13) • Tasks/Manpower, people at CERN and Organization chart will be discussed at the RPC IB (Tuesday 7 Dec 15-16:30) • Full picture of RPC project, organization chart, not covered item and problems will be presented at the 3 Feb 2011 Management board RPC Consolidation Workshop
