Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any “rotten” talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

The Negative Command Do not let any rotten talkcome out of your mouths…
Lies “Each of you must put off falsehood” (Ephesians 4:25)
Harsh, Angry Words Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger… (Ephesians 4:26, 31)
Slander Get rid of all ….Slander (Ephesians 4:31)
“Forgiveness does not change the past . . . but it does enlarge your heart.”
Obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking (Ephesians 5:4)
Empty Words Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. (Ephesians 5:6-7)
