Teacher Disposition • You do not need to play the instrument to gain (and maintain!) student respect as a teacher. • What you do need: • Solid lesson structure that is consistent and procedural • Solid classroom management skills and pre-emptive actions • Procedure, procedure, procedure; a procedure to train procedures • Ability to run an effective rehearsal • Motivational skills • Blend of in/ex motivation • Praise (let’s talk about this)
