  2. UPDATE • Very few comments since Lisbon meeting; • Revised final draft sent to Group 2 members on 21 April and now lodged on CIRCA; • Annex containing Case Studies now included; • No comments received to date on this version.

  3. TEXT • Few revisions to main text; • clarification of points raised in comments; • overall, no substantive changes in meaning; • general tidying up (consistency of terminology, removal of repeated points); • section 3.6 - clarification that any additional monitoring should be risk-based.

  4. ANNEX • 4 Case studies: • ITALY (Emilia Romagna Region); • PORTUGAL Source Protection Zones and measures around a public water-supply in Golegã; • HUNGARY/ROUMANIA Maros/Mureş transboundary groundwater bodies - a multi-layered aquifer system ; • GERMANY (Lingen area) Delineation and use of safeguard zones. • Have had to edit to get into consistent format and length - hope contributors are happy with the result ! • Any issues, get back to Tony Marsland as soon as possible.

  5. And Finally... • Thank you to Group 2 participants, those who contributed case studies and those who have taken time to comment; • Assuming no further comments, will go forward to next SCG on 15-16 May 2007
