GLIMPSES OF “A FAITHFUL MINISTER.” ACTS 20:1-6. INTRODUCTION:
1ST. HE CONSIDERS THE WELFARE OF THE CHURCH. VSS.1-2. A. The attacks started against Paul but, it quickly spread to the church. B. He concluded, ALL believers were in danger. C. Most commentators believe Paul wanted to stay longer in Ephesus. D. A faithful minister puts the welfare of the church first and foremost over all else…. E. He serves quietly, encouraging the people.**
2ND.HE FACES CONSTANT THREATS COURAGEOUSLY AND INTELLIGENTLY. A. Change of plans not a change of action. 1st. Probably plan to rob him…… 2nd. Plan to kill him and through him over….. 3rd. Him alive was a constant threat….. B. He had two goals in mind for the churches. 1st. One was to encourage & strengthen… 2nd. Finish up with the collection for saints.
3RD. NOTE THOSE ACCOMPANYING HIM. VSS. 4-6. A. These are representative from the church. ( names and what they mean.) B. Verse 5 picks up Luke and begins 2nd. We….. C. Verse 6 tells us more than is there??????? D. Sometimes our plans may change like his….. E. In all of this we see a faithful minister is always adaptable and open ready to serve.
