М y Father

1. My great-grandfather was born in 1918. In 1939 he was draft in the army. He took part in Mongolia with Japanese war and in the World War.There was written some information in the newspaper about the courage and bravery of him and his crew.

2. МyFather This is my father.He is a biologist. Now he is a deputy director of Kamchatka’s Agency of protecting the objects of environment.His work is to protect the environment from people (sometimes people from the environment) and to fight against poachers. Two years ago he had been working with the BBC, taking part in the project of rehabilitation of bear cubs which had lost their mothers. He also helped the BBC’s crew to make a film. The BBC did the film about these cubs. The film is called “The Edge of Eden”.

3. My Animals • As for me, I’m fond of horse riding, swimming, reading and studying foreign language. I also write poems…people think them to be good, but I don’t know. I also write stories. May be, one day I’ll become a writer. • These are our animals. My pony and our dog Astra. All my childhood was spent with both of them. My pony is absolutely devoted to me, I can ride him without a bridle. My parents presented it to me when I was 6. • Astra is the best dog I’ve ever known. On the third photo she is pictured with her trophies – the sables. But in summer someone tried to burglar our house and shoot her…

Actually, I do have more relatives who live in other cities but I am going to speak about my family and I believe that family is the dearest people around you that you care about and who care about you. • So, let me introduce my Dad. His name is Vladimir. Actually, he is my stepfather but, fortunately, we got the kind of the relationships that not even all relations by birth have, even though we did have hard times, little by little we got everything right. He became a part of my family when I was nine. My Mom introduced us to each other on the 31st of December so we celebrated the New Year together. To be honest, firstly, I was afraid that he wouldn’t like me. Those were my childish fears, I guess. But when we were going to his place with my Mom, she told me that if we didn’t like each other, she would just take me back home because she knew me longer than him and I was more important to her. That’s just the way my Mom is, she makes jokes out of anything. That set my mind at rest and everything went on well. Pretty soon I knew he was amazing. Even though he has a child of his own, he has never showed that there is any difference between us for him. And he treats me just as his own daughter. He is proud of me when I achieve something, he gets upset when I have different problems and he is always ready to help me. • So, as you can see, he is a well-built, tall man with short fair hair and grey eyes. He is an officer, so he has to keep fit. My Dad has a serious job, so he ought to be responsible. He works for the government and his job is to make sure that there are no spies here in our region. He is fifty-one but he looks younger than his age. My Dad is a very energetic, generous and intelligent person. He is a loyal and patient friend and he is the one who will be there for you if you need help.

5. My Mom’s name is Ann. She is forty-two but she looks younger than her age just as my Dad. She is a teacher and a speech therapist by profession but she doesn’t work now, so she is a housewife and her work is to take care of us and to keep the house clean and tidy. She is good at what she is doing. As you can see, she is not a tall woman and she is beautiful in her own way. She has an attractive face, brown eyes and well-shaped lips. As mentioned before, she has a great sense of humor, she is very witty. My Mom is very easy-going and it’s not hard to get along with her that’s why she has got a lot of friends who enjoy spending time in my house because my Mom knows how to make people feel comfortable. She is very good-natured. My grandmother’s name is Lubov and she is sixty-nine. She has been working hard all her life and she is a good specialist in the field of elementary education. She was the one who chose a great first teacher for me and I think that is why I’m not the worst student now. When I was little we spent a lot of time together because my Mom had to work a lot to earn our living. When I was six and we went on a vocation to my great-grandparents she taught me how to read. We were walking and I had a rope to jump with so she told me that I would read as many words in a book as many times I would jump. My stepbrother’s name is Evgeniy and he is twenty-three. He is a tall, broad-shouldered young man. He has just graduated from the University. He doesn’t live with us because he earns his living; so he is independent. He is pretty reserved and not really talkative. We enjoy spending our free time together. My parents’ hobbies are skiing, gardening and spending time in the open air. My parents have a lot of spare time because as I’ve already said, my mom doesn’t work and my dad works for twenty-four hours and then he has 3 days off. We have two cats in my family and they are really cute, so everyone likes them very much. We consider them to be the members of our family. I believe I’m very lucky to have such a great family. First of all, my parents are my friends. I don’t think I really have a lot of secrets from them because I can share all my thoughts with them knowing that my parents will understand me and do everything to help me. They treat me as an equal and give me freedom.

7. My mother isan artist. She’s fond of painting of landscapes and portraits. Her hobby is body-art and flowers. Also Mum looks younger her age because she follows different diets and keeps fit.
