Key dates (from 9-1-12) reflection: • Personal Projects due (Year 11) (original due date 6 Jan) • Personal Project launch with MYP 4 - Feb • Athletics carnival (18 Feb) • Expeditions Term 2 (29- Feb – 3 March) • Moderation – samples finalised(asap - March) • Arts Festival (26th – 30th March) • PYP transition March, May, June, July • Forecast results MYP5 (Year 11) 6 April • Carnival Day (May 12th)
The MYP Personal Project – what is it, what do I need to understand to mentor students effectively? • The PP is a 1 year inquiry project completed by students at the end of the MYP cycle • There are 3 components – (1) journal (2) product (3) report • All teachers given latest version of PP Guide (refer to pp 12-13 for roles) • All teachers to have the experience of one student to mentor – you may be allocated a teacher with more experience to assist/ advise you • Year 10 students have been approached to express interest in teachers who they might wish to supervise their projects - NO DETAILS FINALISED HERE YET – Process is incomplete • All students and supervisors are to be given a copy of the student book – but this cannot be printed until the draft is finalised - due to be done in next few days in consultation with Michael • MYP10 students will be inducted and start their projects after expeditions.
