June 14th, 2012 News Letter www.teamblisstc.com El Paso Wings Invite Please note - we have adjusted the start times.  On friday, the field events will begin at 5:00pm, and the running events at 5:45pm (this has been the actual start time for other meets).  We intend to start on time, according to the schedule. Please utilize this meet as a dry run for the championship meets.  No coaches/parents on the field.  All coaching must occur from outside the fence (outside the track).   For long jump, coaches can assist with marks for Mini-Bantams, Sub-bantams.  Once marks are established, coaches will need to step back from the pit/runway area.  For all other age divisions, athletes will be expected to find marks themselves at the championship meets.   Better to test their knowledge now, than in a championship meet.  In high jump/pole vault, coaches may assist all ages in finding marks, but must leave the competition area/infield during competition. Start line assistance - each team may have a (1) coach at the start line to assist mini-bantams, and sub-bantams with setting up blocks or finding their lane, etc.  Once bantams step up to the start line, those coaches need to leave the track.  (this local rule is only applicable for 100m, 200m, and 400m races - special assistance is not needed for any other event). We will have a check-in tent at the 100m start area - outside of the track.  The dirt area at that end of the track will be the warm up area.  Because of the heat level on the infield, we do not want anyone on the infield unless absolutely necessary. Team Bliss tent will be behind the bleachers. Team Registration This has to be completed this week to include Team Registration form & USATF form. If you are new to the Team, you will have to complete both forms and we need a copy of a Birth Cert for age Verification by June 16th. Returning Team Members only need to fill out the Team Form and do not require a copy of a Birth Cert. Border Association Championship We will be working the events for Border this weekend and will have a list provided on Monday. Please ensure you fill out the paperwork at the registration desk on what meets you plan on attending. Youth Nationals We will be asking for $10 per Athlete to offset some of the cost of the registration. There will be two buses leaving for Youth Nationals in Arlington. One will leave at 6:30am from the old commissary on Monday the 25th for all the 4x800m and Multi athletes. The other bus will leave at 6:30am from the old commissary on Wednesday the 27th for all remaining Athletes. I have 10 rooms at the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Arlington for the first bus and reservation can be made starting tomorrow 10am til the 20th at Midnight by calling the Hotel's Front Desk (817) 640-1188 and state that they are with the Team Bliss Track Club. I have 15 more rooms at the Wingate by Wyndham Arlington for second bus and anyone driving and reservation can be made starting tomorrow 10am til the 20th at Midnight by calling the Hotel's Front Desk (817) 640-8686 and state that they are with the Team Bliss Track Club. All room have King Size Bed with a queen size sofa sleeper except one which they will provide a roll-a-way. Room rates for both will be $89.99 with no tax. These Hotels are right next to each other. We need to know by Monday the 19th if you plan on attending as entries are due by midnight on the 19th.
