  2. Module Practice Assessment Portfolio (PAMP) Background for change of documentation • 3 new programmes which all share NMAH modules – standardisation • Roll out of NMC standards(2008) Mentor/Sign off Mentor/Practice Teacher • A more robust focus on “Practice” Assessment

Module Practice Assessment Portfolio –Programme Specific Assessors from Sept 2008 (NMC-2006) • HaPP students- Practice Mentor • SPQ students– Practice Mentor/Sign off Mentor (except District Nursing Pathway which requires Practice Teacher) • SCPHN students- Practice Teacher • Students continuing on Current SNHP/SPQ students Mentor/Sign off mentor

Practice Assessment Module Portfolio (PAMP) • Replaces old PPR • Used in all NMAH modules (core, clinical and elective) apart from NMAH 3375/NMAH 3352 • Relevant to SCPHN/SPQ/HaPP Progs as share NMAH modules • Focuses on completion and practice assessment of Module Learning Outcomes • Assessment is by Practice Mentors/Sign off Mentors/Practice Teachers

Practice Assessment Module Portfolio (PAMP) Presented to student as 3 stages: • Stage 1- Reflection and plan of learning undertaken by student and mentor • Stage 2- Collection and producing evidence to demonstrate competency in meeting Module Learning Outcomes-student “guided” by mentor (and Module Leader) • Stage 3- Summative Assessment against Practice Assessment criteria- student and mentor

Module Practice Assessment Portfolio- Information for Mentors/Sign off Mentors/Practice Teachers At Stage 1 : • Students should complete Stage 1 during the first two weeks of commencement of study and should discuss this in detail with their Practice Mentor/Practice Teacher • Students Should complete a plan of learning around the Module Learning Outcomes.

Module Practice Assessment Portfolio- Information for Mentors/Sign off Mentors/Practice Teachers At Stage 2 • Students should not include evidence but cite what evidence they have used using the Evidence Codes (detailed on page 7) Students should be encouraged to keep their evidence for audit trail/purposes. • Mentors should indicate student progress and complete continuous formative assessment –page 14

Module Practice Assessment Portfolio- information for Practice Mentors/Practice Teachers At Stage 3: • Where Info re Summative Assessment-Pass/fail judgments are made, comments must be made to support these. • Module Learning Outcomes-Types of Evidence to demonstrate competence are assessed against the x 2 “assessment criteria” on page 8 • Final summative confirmation statement needs to be signed by mentor/sign off mentor/practice teacher (p20)

Submission of PAMP • Students submit signed and completed PAMP on the submission date indicated by the Module Leader which is usually during the last week of their module. • Students submit the PAMP at CFC main reception at the same time as their theoretical assessment. • Further information can be found for practice mentors/Sign off mentors/Practice Teachers for all Programmes -HaPP, SPQ/SCPQ and SCPHN on the De Montfort University “Learning Beyond Registration” Web page
