This Week At Allsorts 07 /10/ 2013

1. This week we have… • Looked at Autumn weather. We also had a visit from Simon, the pastor at Wallingford Baptist Church, who read the children a story and introduced his puppet hedgehog! • Arts and Crafts/Cookery: we have made “cloud” pictures, “rain” pictures and glittery spider web pictures • Visited the chickens on an Autumn walk collecting items for Autumn pictures. • Enjoyed floating our pirates ships in a table full of water and played with dried rice, making rain sounds dropping it into a tray • Music and Movement: This week we have been singing “I hear thunder, It’s raining it’s pouring, incywincy spider” and “I can sing a rainbow”. In the garden we have used hoops as giant puddles. • Next week… • Next week we are going to be doing lots of cooking! • French Club – we are very sorry to have to let you know that Florence, our French teacher, has been involved in a car accident and has suffered concussion and and swelling of the brain. She needs to get lots of rest and so French club next week will be postponed and an extra session will be added on at the end of term. • Thurs 17th October: 2-4pm Tempest Photography are coming in to take professional family photos. A sign up sheet is on the door onto the decking. • On Thursday 17th October we will be open as usual as we are not members of the teaching unions. • Could you please bring in any small jam jars for use on our stall at the School Christmas Fair and also any flower pots you have at home so that we can plant bulbs. • Notices/Dates: • Just a reminder that school registration for September 2014 is now open. • Show and Tell: Letter of the week next week is “E,e”. • From the Committee: • Wed 16th October: AGM.
